Q2. How do I enter a race or ride?

Firstly you'll need to be a member of Entryweb. Once you have registered you'll have access to your control panel where you can complete your personal and rider profiles. We encourage you to add your best previous performances particularly if you're riding British Cycling and Cycling Time Trial races because it helps the organiser access your ability when selecting and sorting their field. It's also advisable to keep your pervious performances up to date. Races or rides using the Ability selection method will often mean the organiser will take into account your pervious performances when selecting their field.

Once this information has been saved you're now ready to enter some races or rides. Search our events calendar and click on an event to see the events page/programme with all the information the organiser has listed for that event. By clicking on the race or ride name you'll see more specific data about that race or ride. Some events will have more than one race or ride. When you're happy and want to enter just click Entryweb's enter button and you'll be directed to the entry page, this will display all your relevant information associated with your entry e.g. personal details, rider details, specific governing body details etc... you'll then need to select a fee and complete the rest of the form. Some organisers may ask you a question e.g. What is your t-shirt size - S,M,L? or Are you a vegetarian? there may also be further information to complete specific to that race or ride such as your vets standard for this distance for example. Please take care when completing this form once you have paid you won't be able to edit the entry. You can also download that governing bodies parental consent form if you're less than 18 years of age.

After you click enter the entry is added to your entry basket, remember participation in this race or ride is not complete until you have paid. To make the payment click pay from within your entry Basket, the entry will then move automatically to your entry checkout. By clicking proceed to payment you'll be redirect to Protx within a secure environment where you'll be prompted to select which type of card you wish to use, after which you'll be asked to complete your card details and any further verification steps. Once payment has been successful you are redirected back to Entryweb and given a reference number for that transaction which is logged in your account tab. Your entry is also logged in your my entries tab. An e-mail receipt is then sent to you with your payment confirmation. Check back on the event page/programme to see your name in the live entrants list.

Q3. I'm less than 18 years old do I need parental consent to enter?

You don't need parental consent to enter a race or ride and/or pay using Entryweb. However in the vast majority of cases you'll need to present a signed parental consent form to the event organiser, steward or official at signing on or at the very least have it signed ready at the event to be able to ride. Some events may have a different procedure at signing on, check back on the events page/programme or contact the organiser if you require more details. At Entryweb we recognise the importance of parental consent so on each entry page we provide the appropriate governing bodies parental consent form to download and print ready to be signed. Under 18's need to be aware of their event and/or governing bodies rules and regulations and probably won't be allowed to ride unless the form is complete.

Q4. How do I enter a friend?

Once you have registered and filled out your profiles you can not only start entering yourself but friends too. This function is handy if you're a team manager, parent, coach or even a club representative entering team mates.

Click enter a friend button from the event page/programme on the race or ride you wish to enter a friend into which links you to the enter a friend page. If your friend is already a member of Entryweb all you need to do is type his or her e-mail address in the box provided and let Entryweb populate the form with their details. If your friend isn't registered with Entryweb and you provide us with their e-mail address we'll send them an automatic welcome e-mail and open an account for them including details of your entry, however it's not necessary to include an e-mail address. To complete your friend's entry you'll need to indicate (by checking the box) you have your friend's permission after that check the form is correct and click Enter.

As with entering yourself payment is needed so you can either proceed to your entry basket to make that payment or leave it for your friend to pay. Please note your friend will need to be an Entryweb member to pay if they wish to do so. If for any reason the entry needs editing either of you can do so, however if your friends does this then take over the responsibility to pay.

Q7. I'm a Team Manager how do I enter my team?

Entryweb at present does not distinguish you as a team manager from someone entering a friend. We recommend team managers simply register with us but then enter their riders by using the enter a friend function. There is an option at the foot of every entry page to send a note to the organiser so we advise team managers to send the organiser a memo letting them know their rider preferences, convoy requirements or any other information.

If you have been removed from a race or ride you may be entitled to a payment but this all depends on the policy of that particular event and/or organiser. Please be aware Entryweb does not at this stage give refunds so any payment should come from the organiser, promoting club or company.

Q15. What happens if my event is cancelled?

If your event is cancelled for any reason the organiser will no doubt inform you via Entryweb and/or other means however Entryweb automatically e-mails all entrants when an organiser deletes an event or race/ride. We advise all organisers to post any changes to this effect on their event page/programmes if a decision is not taken to actually delete the whole listing on Entryweb e.g. if a new date has been re-scheduled. If you're entitled to a refund you'll need to contact the organiser, please bear in mind different events will have different refund/cancellation policies. Some events may be re-scheduled or even have to follow a policy set by their governing body.

Yes. All your credit and debit card details are dealt with by Protx and HSBC Bank. Protx uses the highest industry standard 128-bit encryption when transmitting card details. Q17. Does Entryweb validate entries to help minimise errors?

As an extra feature for Entryweb's members we validate entries to help minimise errors and reasure organisers the right riders are entering the right races. We do this by checking whether your category is able to enter the race. For example if you try entering a BC National A race only open Elite, Senior 1st and 2nd as a 4th category your entry will be rejected. As a result we advise all organisers to take extra care when selecting their categories whilst creating their races.

Riders with the correct dispensation and documentation, and not a category stipulated for the race will need to click the dispensation box on the entry page which allows them to bypass the validation check and still enter with all their currently saved details. Warning: Only riders with dispensation should use this function; the organiser will need to see the correct documentation before you'll be allowed to ride.

Note: The validation check is performed on your ability category not your age category.

Checks apply to all competitive races - All British Cycling (BC), Cycling Time Trials (CTT), The League International (TLI) and League of Veteran Racing Cyclists (LVRC) races
